One of Canada’s fastest growing communities, Wasaga Beach is attracting residents who want easy access to Barrie, Toronto and larger city centres, but are looking for a laid-back lifestyle. Wasaga Beach is best known as the longest freshwater beach in the world providing lots of options for every beach goer from family fun or party spot! The vista from anywhere on Wasaga Beach is absolutely stunning – the blue waters of Georgian Bay stretch right to the horizon for fabulous sunsets. Neighbourhoods are a mix of cottages and new development homes between, running along rivers and between trailed woodland – Wasaga Beach Provincial Parks create lots of green space, as do the three golf courses located within town limits! Notably, the town doesn’t have a distinct centre or main street but after a devastating fire in 2007, the Town has purchased the Waterfront in order to develop it further.
Wasaga Beach is located on the longest fresh water beach in Ontario, named Beach Area 1-6. Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and Wasaga Nordic Trail Centres provide an incredible green space for hiking and nordic skiing. While there isn’t a traditional Main Street, Beach Area 1’s Beach Drive provides dining, shopping and cafe’s with a view that can not be beat!
