Welcome To Collingwood

Located on the shores of Georgian Bay with the Grain Terminal as the unofficial symbol of the town, Collingwood is the gateway to the Blue Mountain Ski Resort for visitors coming from Toronto.  It’s one of the larger Towns in the area, with a population of over 20,000; Less sleepy than its smaller surrounding villages, Collingwood offers that sweet spot of big-town amenities with small-town charm…  Easy access to a ton of outdoor adventures and activities, as well a vibrant downtown with galleries, clothing shops, and home good stores you could spend all day popping in and out of; plus the food and craft beer scene in Collingwood is ah-ma-zing.

Boundaries

Collingwood’s borders run from Poplar Sideroad to the water’s edge, nestled between Wasaga Beach and Blue Mountain Resort.  The Historic Downtown runs North/South from Highway 26 to about Hume Street and is a lovely stroll from end to end.  Larger big box stores, like Walmart, are easily accessible just off the main highway running through town.  The Collingwood Harbour is also easily walkable from the downtown core.

5 Places You'll LOVE:

  1. Gibson & Company: tucked away in a skinny alley off of the main street, this cafe and bar offers an atmosphere that is somehow both cozy and sophisticated.
  2. Metra Fashion House: do not leave me unattended in here.  Minimalist modern fashion perfectly curated by the shop owner Cathy Brown, this women’s clothing store is a dream to browse and a joy to shop at.
  3. Black Bellows Brewery: one of many excellent Independently owned and operated Breweries in the area, Black Bellows books musicians, plans trivia and hosts homebrew competitions.  Super fun!
  4. Press Market: an organic plant-based restaurant, cafe, smoothie bar, and market – its that perfect mix of fast and convenient but oh-so-healthy.  I recommend the Kimchee Bowl.
  5. The Nest Home Interiors:  Interior design with a home decor store front located at the corner of Hurontario and Hume, The Nest really reflects that relaxed, vacation vibe this region does so well.
